Saruq Al Hadid Creative Platform Exhibition

November 7, 2017 - November 25, 2017

This was a temporary exhibition planned by Dubai Municipality alongside Van Cleef L’ecole School. The purpose of this exhibition was to showcase old artefacts and jewelry that were discovered in the United Arab Emirates at the Saruq Al Hadid archaeological site and show an contemporary jewelry collection that was inspired from them. My role in this was to provide high level concept design. I was inspired by the dunes and also the process of the archaeological discover itself – something that revealed itself layer by layer. As such I created a ‘dune’ that echoed this idea. I used blender’s wave modifier to create the hills and then sculpted the model to get the right shape and falloff. I then exported the model into sketchup and ensured the file was production ready.

In the large dune there were showcases displaying the original artefacts from the dig. There was also a sliding magnifying lens for those who wanted to have a detailed look. In the smaller dune there was the contemporary collection that drew inspiration from the artefacts.
